Organizational announcement

Following a distinguished 20-year career with Balchem, Dave Ludwig, Vice President and General Manager Specialty Products and Industrial Products has announced his intention to retire, effective December 31st of this year. Dave has contributed significantly to our company throughout his career, culminating in the completion of the recent acquisition of Chemogas. Dave has taken on increasing responsibilities over his time with us, ultimately leading two of our four reporting segments, but most importantly, he has exemplified our core values and provided unwavering leadership. Dave certainly will be missed, although we wish him all the best in retirement! Thank you Dave, for all you have done for our company!

As a result of Dave’s pending retirement, I would like to inform you about our leadership succession plan for the Specialty Products and Industrial Products segments.

Upon Dave’s retirement at the end of the year, Job van Gunsteren, currently Director of Animal Nutrition and Health for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) will be promoted to the role of Vice President and General Manager Specialty Products. Job joined Balchem in 2007 and has played an integral role in the growth of our Animal Nutrition and Health business in EMEA. Scott Mason, Vice President Manufacturing and Supply Chain, will take on the additional responsibility of Vice President and General Manager Industrial Products while maintaining his existing role. Over the coming weeks and months Dave, Job, and Scott will work together to smoothly transition all responsibilities while also integrating Chemogas effectively into Balchem.

Specifically relating to the Chemogas integration, Dirk Battig, CEO Chemogas has also announced his intention to retire by January of next year. Dirk has spent the past 25+ years building Chemogas into a successful international company, first as part of a larger corporation, and more recently as an entrepreneurial independent company. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to bring our two companies together. Dirk will play an important role, working with Dave and Job, to facilitate the integration process and ensure we realize the full potential of our combined companies.

Job will ultimately lead the Specialty Products segment from Grimbergen, Belgium, the plant and office location of Chemogas, and he will immediately begin to work from there as he manages the transition of his current and future responsibilities. The team will announce more specifics about their transition plans in the coming weeks.

Please join me in congratulating Dave and Dirk on their upcoming retirements and Job and Scott on their new responsibilities.
